Hyōryū (漂流)

The word Hyōryū (漂流) in Japanese means drifting. Whilst visiting in 2019, I spent many hours travelling by train across what is the world's most extensive urban rail network, conveying an average 40 million passengers per day. Moving with this endless flow of people, I felt unexpectedly and blissfully adrift, floating with the crowd. These images, taken within and nearby various stations, capture my drifting.
